Chocolatey: Install Free Windows Programs From A
The easy way to install software on Windows
Chocolatey has many apps available for install within the command prompt which takes away the need for trolling the internet for different websites, risking the chance of catching viruses and or malware to install popular free applications.
Within the Chocolatey list are many applications to install, some which are genuinely free and some which are trial versions, however there is no mention within the list of which apps are which, it becomes a bit of a trial and error situation.
One very good advantage to installing apps through the Chocolatey program is avoiding the ugly extra browser tool bars or junk ware that are installed when unsuspecting users just quickly run through the default installation and not taking the time to read carefully and untick these options when progressing through this process, sometimes selecting the advanced install is necessary in avoiding these issues.
The following is a small list of genuine free software applications I have installed and tried which you should find useful
